i'm currently working on my ocs in the Fallen London/Echo Bazaar universe ( Eldritch horror underground victorian london game that is very queer ), Charlie Corliss is a detective who has found themselves entrenched in a deep and morally dubious game of spies and thieves who is trying desperately to do what they believe is good and Se.Fletcher is a thief with a dangerous level of curiosity. I'm very loosely adapting an old Pathfinder 1e campaign I ran about a decade ago into a story. It's about a group of rebels overthrowing an empire set in a fantasy world, and it's got a pretty colourful cast.
It's supposed to be an ensemble cast, but Anoush is arguably the main character. She's an orphan and street urchin who, at 11 years old, successfully picked a martial arts master's pocket. He was impressed enough by this that he offered to teach her, and took her in. She's been training under him for the past decade or so, alongside her master's friend Javakh, a giant.

Me and my sister actually have a shared universe we've both made OCs for. We call it "The Twisted Tales of Macabria" (which is like....its title if it were a show or something). Macabria is like this fantasy world eternally stuck within the victorian era. We've kinda described it as "Edgar Allen Poe meets Gravity Falls/OTGW" in a way. Anyways, these are my babies!!!! Benjamin is a young, plague doctor-like bird creature called a maskbeak, who runs away from his flock and gets adopted by a scientist. He's mute btw~ Jeckle is a morph, which is a reptilian beast capable of shapeshifting and mimicking other beings. His species is a new discovery to humanity, and after he was donated to a circus freak show, he started to learn how to replicate human beings and gradually replicate the english language. He used his newfound human abilities and intelligence.....to become a circus clown (I didn't draw these btw my sister did~)

All of these are SO COOL!
I am writing about a group of friends in the post-apocalypse who live on an island, but as they grow up there becomes more and more threats from the mainland. It is more fantasy than sci fi, but it is a lot of fun to write

i was really into a certain two characters of mine wayyyy long ago, but i totally forgot about them and just recently remembered they existed! one of them was a rollerskater who'd go around town paintin' graffiti and terrorizing cops, and the other was a peasant from the middle ages who got transported to modern day! i never really came up with names for them tbh, but off the top of my head i think i'd call the rollerskater eri, and the peasant would be called cassie. the whole idea was that eri would teach cassie how to cause problems on purpose and they'd eventually topple the government and then kiss or somethin' i actually really wanna write something with these two, now that i'm thinking about them more!

That sounds like the setup to an awesome story!

Alright, here's the rundown of some of the main characters from the story I mentioned earlier in the thread.
Guiscard A gruff old man and mentor to the rest of the cast. He actually doesn't do much in the story and only served to bring the main cast together, as he's a semi-immortal sage and martial arts master who taught each of them something different. His story is that he was cursed / blessed by a fae queen named the Queen of Dusk (she presides over endings) -- she granted him semi-immortality, which makes him age more slowly the older he gets, and in exchange he has spent the last several centuries slaying entities that defy the natural cycle of life and death (like various undead). These days he's retired and just teaches would-be heroes who seek him out to learn the secrets of esoteric martial arts and exotic sorceries.
This doesn't come up in the story, but Guiscard is the bearer of the Red Word, one syllable of the primordial word of fire spoken at the dawn of creation. It gives him immunity to and dominion over fire in all its forms, which is why he's such a good metalsmith.
Javakh A member of a race of small giants whose people stayed behind in the mortal realm to guard it against an evil entity that could not be slain, but who their tribe sealed away forever. He gave in to his wanderlust and left his tribe's mountain home, and found work at a smithy Guiscard was running, and the two became best friends.
Anoush A street urchin who successfully picked Guiscard's pocket at a mere 11 years old. This impressed him enough that he offered to take her in and teach her martial arts, because he knew that if she remained out on the street, her life would take a dark direction. She accepted and has spent the past decade learning his esoteric martial arts and living with him and Javakh. She's perpetually smug and overconfident, and thinks her martial arts mastery makes her invincible (she is very wrong).
Jvaala A beastkin from an enclave in the same country Anoush is from. He's one of those people who is sickeningly multitalented: He's good-looking, athletic, charismatic, and smart, all in one package. He's skilled in swordplay, unarmed fighting, healing magic, AND combat magic. He is also 5'4", making him the shortest of main cast. He also plays fast and loose with gender and sexuality, frequently flouting gender norms and dressing however he feels on any given day.
The plot of the story is that Anoush and Jvaala hear that there are sincere resistance efforts beginning in their shared homeland against an empire that has been rapidly expanding and conquering surrounding nations, ruled by an immortal mage-emperor, who instituted a society where one's magical might determines their place in the social hierarchy. The two of them ask for Javakh's help, and then they set off and make contact with the resistance leader and join them.
