Whats everyone's least favourite little bit of coding?, i can never get the hang of string manipulation even though its so simple! The 'idiot' moments, where a crash takes an hour or more of puzzling and pondering and going through the logic and stopping and printing variables all to learn that I just typo'd a single variable.

definitely when you make something from scratch and you're really proud of yourself and then realize there was a package all along that already did it. it's so deflating :(((

When you add some code and it breaks your script so you take the code back out...but everything is still broken. Whatever duct tape and prayers once held together your code were incinerated, and now you're just screwed.

Whatever duct tape and prayers once held together your code were incinerated, and now you're just screwed. ohh yeh i ran into that an hour before the submit time on a two month long project. The game was done i just wanted to add a little something extra to make it smoother but then... For one particular java project, about 2-3 hours before the submission time I had one comp sci major on the phone, one working via discord messages, and my professor responding intermittently to emails...and no one could figure out what was wrong with my stuff. Eventually we ripped my prof's test case file (he used an online bot to grade our scripts) and went through each test case and tweaked the code until it worked for all of the cases. Somehow it still didn't produce the correct results for anything outside of the test cases, but a win is a win, right?
[Note: my major required we take some coding classes from the comp sci dept, but I was not in college for that so this was all doubly painful for me haha]
