I have completely re-made my website today and I'm pretty happy with it. There's still more I want to do (particularly making a short browser game inside my website), but it's already looking the way I want it to. Link: feralcat.neocities.org/

Figured I'd finally jump onto this thread. While my website is still heavily in progress, I've really buckled down lately with writing things on some OC pages and reworking my fanart gallery. I also added a secret page for fun (it's extremely easy to find.) Edit: Ok you can't see links in dark mode apparently. If you click the word website it'll go to mine lmao. ur site looks fucking amazing. voltaire quote hits, btw.

oh, this is nice! i'm trying to make my own guestbook/chatbox except using Firebase & python. I'll probably implement it via iFrame. I've 0 experience in firebase OR django python, but I hope I'll figure this out

hip hip, hooray! i've managed to make a chatbox all by myself (and some tutorials online, obviously). would anyone like to leave a comment? :>
p.s. i eventually didn't use django at all, haha. i deployed the dynamic content through firebase cloud functions, so i suppose i also don't need the hosting website? on the downsides it's that i have to pay for this all to work, but they have the pay-to-go or whatever, so as long as i don't exceed the limit, i don't have to puy a buck. and the prices aren't that big, tbh, so i think i can manage it.

next thing on my agenda would be creating the same thing except for my blogs and i'll probably also implement it through iframe and firebase, because why the hell not? Oh, and I also want to create, like, a fax machine. The basic premise is that you'd be able to send a fax to whoever is registered and has the fax machine posted on their website. the fax will then be displayed on that person's website. It's fairly more complicated, as i'd need to make separate users and passwords and stuff, but it's a fun little project, so why not?
if anyone's interesting working together on that fax machine or however i'll eventualy end up calling it, you can hit me up! i have a discord if you're interested

i know that i probably blabber about my site a little too much, but hey, who cares. this is a forum, we're free to post whatever and whenever we like, right? i've once again remade my entire website because i (again) didn't like the previous version. there are a few bits and pieces that need polishing (like the snail race and my blog), but overall, i'm happy with this style. i think i'll keep this one as my main theme of my web corner i've also made a better catalogue, feel free to message me and i'll add your pw there too! i've noticed that my sites have much more text and much less images than what other people have, but i think i enjoy these types of layouts more. sometimes i get overwhelmed whenever i go on a certain webpage and there's just so much stuff there and all the gifs and spinny images

it's been a bit since i've checked in here, but i've done a ton with my site over the past month -- added a proper landing page, a guest book, a few shrines, properly set up CSS, and expanded my graphics page.

I'm putting a neocities site together piece by piece, but there hasn't been much progress with it so far. I'm clueless as to how to code and I gotta figure out how to implement everything as I'm going along, so working on it is unfortunately kinda draining for me. I'm using a template someone made so I don't have to build it up from scratch, but still. I'd say my biggest issue with my site atm is my background. I have a glitchy purple title background that I think is really cool, but I'm worried it might trigger some people with epilepsy. Here's a link to my site so far (tw: don't click if you're sensitive to flashing images)I really like how it looks, but I'm still worried that I'm excluding people. I've tried looking for cooler tile backgrounds on the usual geocities resource sites, but nothing really fits my vibe and aesthetic that well. If I can't find anything, I'm just gonna put a warning page for when people enter (and I don't even know how to make separate pages yet). Have you considered a landing page? Right now I have a landing page for my 'fun' site that warns it's not epilepsy-safe. My plan is to make a less movement-heavy version with the same text information, just static images, and link to both from the landing page: so have an 'epilepsy safe' button and a 'flashy version' button.
I'm definitely struggling in the same sense. I feel like my website looks too polished, partially because I'm trying really hard to follow current advice regarding accessibility. Thus having a designated 'fun' space. (So This is my main site, and This is my fun space; you can see the link to my fun space goes to the warning landing page first.)

I did consider that (even thought I don't know how to make the landing page the first thing that shows up), but you're a little too late, I'm afraid. I've decided on having a simpler background. It's still a gif, but it's nowhere near as flashy and bright and definitely gives off a classic Geocities feel. I totally relate to feeling like your website is too polished (although I don't even know if I can call it that. I think it's too simplistic so far to be considered professional). I envy a lot of the people who are able to put all kinds of quirky and fun things all over their site. I realize that they're probably a LOT more experienced with coding than I am, but still.
