Alright, so I've written another essay. This time it's about a movie that's been bugging the shit out of me for a solid month now. I tried to channel my inner Linsey Ellis with this one and I hope you all like what I'm trying to say. The Real Reason Why Wish Sucks by MrsMoe

I'll share this before I forget it again!
"Fighting off the swamp of conservatism with critical thinking, progressivism, and the embrace of change."
A small essay piece I've written when I was thinking of a better way the two systems can communicate with each other. I don't think I managed to put everything I've wanted into words, but I was happy enough with it to publish the piece.
P.S. I really wanna get my hands on reading everything you've shared here! I'm sorry I've been so slow, reading has been a real struggle for me as of late. <3

These are some excellent points! And it reminds me of exactly why the two party government systems sucks so much ass. The goal of conservativism (or the republican party, at the very least) isn't to provide healthy caution when it comes to change and progress. It's to do the opposite of whatever the hell the democrats want, like a petty contrarian. Outside of the fact that conservativism and capitalism, as an ideology, thrives off of dehumanization of minorities, conservatives fight so hard to make life so fucking worse for everyone because they view their party like a favorite sports team. The impact their politics will have on other people's lives are pretty much never on their mind because it's all about making sure their side "wins". I also think this approach to politics has rubbed off heavily on the left and why so many people are stuck as neoliberals. We aren't allowed to criticize people like Biden or Obama because they're supposedly on our side and to demand better is somehow a betrayal.

I also think this approach to politics has rubbed off heavily on the left and why so many people are stuck as neoliberals. We aren't allowed to criticize people like Biden or Obama because they're supposedly on our side and to demand better is somehow a betrayal. oh, i haven't even thought about that!
yeah, it seems that politics has become a game of sports. it's not really a strive for a change or even representing your political views. i'm not even sure it ever was like that? i'm curious whether politics became like sports, or whether sports became like politics. probably the former, haha, makes more sense that way. the "no critics" rule is really awful, the downscale of politics to just black and white. this is a tactic that A LOT of ideologies use and in my opinion we should try and walk away as far away from that as possible. it's the "We vs. Them" thing, where you should hate "them" and love "us" and any debate or critical thought shall be punished or seen as betrayal.
i think part of the problem is because political camps and parties are so isolated from each other. like, we are TOLD that "conservatives want to do this" or "liberals want to do that" but how many of us actually check? how many of us actually go an talk and debate people from different political ideologies? i feel like if we made "political party ambassadors" or whatever you call them, where one or multiple members of party A go to party B and vice versa, to engage and talk and discuss, then we'd hate each other less and be more productive.
both the left AND the right do this. maybe the left does this less, i don't know, but all of us demonize the other side. i mean, sometimes the other side truly is demon-like, those that support genocide, apartheid, etc., but it doesn't give us a right to dehumanize them. they're still humans. i don't think you'll manage to convince your opponents by not listening to them and bickering. engagement and discussion, whenever possible, and trying to be kind, patient, and understanding, is the best solution. but at the same time it can be misused by opponents. problem is that we can't make sure that both parties play it fairly. and i personally can't really come up with a solution where both or all sides will be controlled and their power in debates and discussions will remain non-abused. but i think the general public will make the final verdict. i mean, who'd you personally vote for: a person who's trying to ACTUALLY break down their opponent's arguments, maybe even see their point of view and correcting on their biases OR a person who just blabbers and doesn't listen at all? because i've already made a decision. as some wikipedia article put it "wikipedia is more left-wing due to the fact that the general public is on average more left-wing." collectively people will always strive for a change.
sorry for rambling, i just like political/philosophical discussions!

Sorry for being a bit late with this! I accidentally slept all day This story is a little different from my usual work. Definitely not in terms of content, but because I tried to imitate the writing style of a children's book. Overall, I'm aiming for this to be a little fucked up, a little darkly humorous, and a little sad. This is just the first half btw. TW: miscarriage (not actually though. It's a false alarm) and body horror (the usual). Our Flesh and Blood by MrsMoe

I'm very excited to see where it's going <3 Now I'm very curious to read a horror book that is written with this childish story's innocence and narration. Where horrible things are viewed through a child's lens (not a character's eyes, but just by narration).

I wasn't able to finish Our Flesh and Blood this week, unfortunately (mostly due to my sleeping schedule being fucked). But as an alternative, I thought I could share a short story I wrote when I was 17. It's a lot different from my current work and it's not the deepest story, but it'll always be an important milestone for me because I won a pretty big writing contest with it. It's still not finished, but I'm gonna share what I have of Our Flesh and Blood so far, cause.....why the hell not lol. Posting the first half of a story one week and the rest of it the rest is what I want to do ideally, but this is shaping up to be the longest thing I've ever written. Let me know if you don't mind me sharing my work like this. Our Flesh and Blood by MrsMoe

So....I'm currently struggling with writer's block with this story because I can't help but worry if it's getting boring. The story has a whole surreal beginning, mundane middle section and surreal ending thing going on, but I'm concerned about it dragging or not being engaging enough. I didn't write too much more of this, but it'd be nice if you guys could tell what you think so far. (Also, I have an in-universe explanation for why they can't just surgically remove the flesh keeping them together. There's a huge, vital vein within it that connects to both Molly and Olga's hearts, so cutting it would be incredibly risky. I'm not sure if I should add it the explanation or leave it out for the sake of the metaphor). Our Flesh and Blood by MrsMoe

It's one of those stories that are more about a situation / metaphor, so I don't think that you're lingering on any one part of the two's story enough for it to become dull to a reader. I think it can go either way RE: including the in-universe explanation. I don't think it would feel out of place from some of the other medical type stuff that goes on in the earlier parts, but I also don't think it's integral to understanding the story.

I'm sorry to admit this but unfortunately, I've chosen to take a break and step away from Our Flesh and Blood for a while. I was suffering from burnout while writing it, which is why I skipped writing anything last week. I promise I'll get back to it eventually, but I really need to refresh my brain with something new for now. Luckily though, I've written a new outline for a book I want to write. Obvious metaphor is obvious, but it's a story I really need to get out of my system for the sake of my own sanity. And yes this WAS heavily influenced by Uzumaki Mesh by MrsMoe

Here's a new short story I've been working on. Surprisingly, I don't have to put a trigger warning this time. It's a bit more tame compared to my other stuff, but still pretty weird. Jingles by MrsMoe

Jingles by MrsMoeXD I love the twist in this!! So silly...! I've written a quick little fanfic this past week for a femslash February event on DW! The story I'm taking from, Tonari no Robot, is a one volume manga about a robot and her Nextdoor neighbor. This takes place post-canon, so there's some light spoilers!
